Universal Credit has Arrived

From 19th September 2018 Universal Credit will replace the following benefits for new claimants of working age: -
- Housing Benefit
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
- Income Support
- Child Tax Credit
- Working Tax Credit
If you need to make a new application for any of these benefits you will need to apply for Universal Credit online. You will need details of your rent charge to ensure that your housing costs are included in the claim. If you are unclear what your current rent charge is, please contact our Customer Service Centre on 0800 028 2755 or your local ACHA office.
Claims for Universal Credit will not be backdated therefore it is important that if you lose your job or have any other changes in your circumstances you complete a claim online as quickly as possible at www.gov.uk/apply-universal-credit.
