Systemically Important Status

The Scottish Housing Regulator has identified that there are a small number of Registered Social Landlords within Scotland who are systemically important. This may be due to their stock size, financial turnover, level of debt or because of their significance within their area of operation. A failure of these registered social landlords would have a negative effect within their area of operation. Argyll Community Housing Association has been included within the category of `systemically important` Registered Social Landlords due to our size, financial turnover, level of managed debt and geographical importance. The Scottish Housing Regulator requires to maintain a comprehensive understanding of how we operate, how we manage the risks we face and the impact these risks may have on Argyll and Bute. Annually, we require to submit information relating to our performance, efficiency and financial health. Currently we are classified as `medium` within the Scottish Housing Regulators ratio of low/medium/high. Systemically important Registered Social Landlords are provided a `medium` rating as standard.
