Go Ahead and “Tap the App"
Tenants of Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) will now be able to take advantage of two new ways to make a payment to the association via their smartphones with the introduction of the Allpay app and the Pingit app.
All you have to do is simply visit the app store applicable for your device and download the app. The apps are free of charge and setting them up are quick and easy with clear on-screen instructions. A dedicated helpline is available from both providers if you need assistance.
Staff in Helensburgh attend Emergency Life Support training facilitated by Heartstart
On Friday 15th July 2016, eight members of staff from Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) and Argyll Homes for All (AHFA), the Association’s repairs subsidiary, completed a two hour Emergency Life Support training session, run by Sheenah Nelson and colleagues from Heartstart Helensburgh Garelochside Rotary, Helensburgh and Local District Defrillator Association, Charity Number SC005716.
The training was carried out following the recent installation of a Defibrillator on the exterior of Lamont House.
ACHA secures final part of the deal for a further Connel New Build
Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) have been able to secure the final two pieces of the jigsaw to build a third phase of affordable homes in the village of Connel, north of Oban. Argyll and Bute Council confirmed planning approval this week and ACHA were then able to acquire the site.
The Scottish Government, Argyll and Bute Council and ACHA had given a commitment earlier to fund the new development. It will be made up of 10 homes for affordable rent comprising of 4 x 3 bedroom houses, 2 x 2 bedroom houses and 4 x 2 bedroom flats. The total cost of the project will be in the region of £1.6million.
ACHA Welcomes Scottish Government Support for Welfare Rights
Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) has welcomed a grant approval by the Scottish Government of £170,000 to support its Welfare Rights Information Service through the People and Communities Fund.
The Association has, over the past 6 years, supported a small team of staff to work with tenants on low incomes and who have been vulnerable to welfare reform changes.
Acha Go on Site at Victoria Park
Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) have just gone on site with 5 three bedroom family homes in Victoria Park in Dunoon.
The development on ACHA owned land will be built by M&K MacLeod of Lochgilphead. The onsite work will take around a year with an anticipated handover in the Spring of 2017.
