Duncan's in the Picture!
Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) carried out a tenant satisfaction survey during October 2015. Over 1,600 tenants from all over Argyll and Bute were contacted by ACHA staff and asked to participate. 450 tenants agreed to take part in the survey, the aim of which is to assist the Association to develop and improve its services to tenants
All participants were entered into a prize draw to win a 40” TV. Pictured is Duncan McCallum of Kerrera Terrace, Oban receiving his prize from ACHA’s Chairman of the Board of Management, Mr Jim Milne.
Restoration Work Starts in Oban
One of Soroba Road’s most familiar buildings is to get a comprehensive facelift.
The tenement at 52 Soroba Road, Oban which provides 6 homes saw work start after the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
The 10 week contract coordinated by Argyll Community Housing Association to a value of £133,000 has been awarded to Turner Facilities Management Limited. The works will include a new roof, rerendering, wall insulation, external painting and new fascias, soffits, downpipes and guttering.
Argyll and Bute MP visits local job club in Helensburgh
Brendan O’Hara, SNP MP for Argyll and Bute kindly dropped by the job club run by the Adult Learning Team from Argyll & Bute Council held within The Kirkmichael Centre on Thursday mornings 10 - 12.
Jackie Gibb and Dawn Archard are on hand to offer one to one support to clients who are supported with IT skills and CV writing. These classes are drop in and informal. A class is run on Thursday afternoons in Roseneath library from 2 – 4pm. Another is run within Helensburgh library on Tuesday afternoons 2 -4pm. All are welcome, no need to book, just turn up. The Thursday morning class even offers tea & toast!
Castle Delivers New IT Infrastructure
Castle Computer Services has successfully completed the implementation of a new IT infrastructure for Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA)
The project was awarded to Castle after an extensive tendering process and ensures that ACHA has a robust, flexible platform to meet the future needs of the organisation.
ACHA Assists Local Groups
Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) has, over the past year, given financial assistance to 17 organisations throughout Argyll and Bute.
These groups have received an award from the Association’s Community Action Fund which was set up to give donations of up to £500 to organisations which are registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) and which have some housing connection or a connection to the Aims and Objectives of the Association. Applications are considered by ACHA’s four local Area Committees.
