Michael Russell MSP Opens New ACHA Homes in Dunoon

Argyll Community Housing Association has just completed five new family homes at Victoria Park, Dunoon.

The homes built on a site transferred to ACHA by Argyll and Bute Council overlook Dunoon town centre and the river Clyde.

Argyll Homes for All, which is ACHA’s subsidiary company delivering repairs contracts has just appointed Leyla Williams to the post of Assistant Manager.

Leyla from Oban joined the ACHA group in 2013 following graduation. Since then, she has worked in both Housing Management and Repairs. Her new role will see her become an Assistant Manager with responsibility for supporting Repairs Contracts for all the Association’s stock in Oban, Lorn and the Isles and Mid Argyll and Kintyre.

ACHA Membership Prize Draw

Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) recently held its 2016 Membership Prize draw and the winners, each receiving a hamper of goodies, were announced as:

  • Mr Crichton, Rothesay (Bute & Cowal)
  • Ms Henderson, Campbeltown (Mid Argyll & Kintyre)
  • Mrs Twort, Connel (Oban, Lorn & Isles)

Santa Drops in on ACHA New Build Opening in Oban

Santa took time out from his busy schedule to drop in on ACHA’s latest new build opening. He joined the Reverend Dugald Cameron and the children from Park Primary School in the town who were on a housing field trip. Once Santa had distributed the goodies from his bag the Reverend Cameron officially opened the development.

The new homes are the latest phase in ACHA’s 107 home project in Glenshellach, with a total value of £15.6million, which has seen 57 new homes completed to date with the remaining being built over the next two years. The homes handed over this week comprise of 8 one bedroomed properties, 5 three bedroomed and 4 four bedroomed houses. The financial breakdown in this phase saw just over £1million in grant from the Scottish Government, £1million from ACHA and £425,000 from Argyll and Bute Council.

ACHA Publishes Landlord Report for 2015/16

Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) has published its third annual Landlord Report for tenants and service users.

The Landlord Report highlights tenants and other service users’ views on ACHA’s services and how well the organisation delivers against a range of indicators in the Scottish Social Housing Charter.
