Partnership Working Brings Benefits to Cowal Pipe Band Hall
ACHA, in association with local contractors, has made a major contribution to a local community venue by refurbishing the kitchen at Cowal Pipe Band Hall.
Working with ACHA’s main contractor Carillion, Dunoon based company Stewart McNee and Tiree based Kevan Brown, have completely refurbished and updated the kitchen. Old fittings have been replaced with matching units, new worktops and new electrics. There has even been an upgrade to a brand new central heating boiler donated by Worchester Bosch UK. The old boiler was installed many years ago and was very uneconomical to today’s standards!
Nick Bancks, Local Area Manager for Property Services in ACHA, said
“It is great that our contractors have been able to upgrade such a valuable and well used community venue.”
Tommy Dorrian, Carillion Contracts Manager added “When we were made aware of the condition of these amenities by ACHA we were more than happy to support this project, the difference in the facilities will provide a fantastic sustainable location for all of the local community to utilise”
Duncan MacLeod and Colin Stevenson from Dunoon Argyll Pipe Band were also delighted.
“What an improvement!” Duncan said. “The groups that use the hall are already seeing a big difference”.
Alastair MacGregor, ACHA Chief Executive, commented:
“It is so important that community centres such as these are supported by the community and ACHA are delighted we could play our part in helping the Pipe Band Hall and by extension Cowal Pipe Band”.
