Drug Dealers Not Tolerated

ACHA’s policy of zero tolerance against tenants, their families, friends and visitors who use it’s housing stock for immoral or illegal purposes was again tested when an order was granted to recover a property from a tenant recently.

The tenant, who lived in a property close to the town centre, was convicted of a drugs related offence at Dunoon Sheriff Court.

ACHA Chief Executive, Alastair MacGregor said:
“Evicting tenants is not something we do lightly and therefore we weigh all the factors before taking this serious step. However, we will continue to take action against tenants who have allowed their home to be associated with drug dealing. This includes residents, lodgers and visitors to the property, not just the tenants. This result is a clear win in ACHA’s fight to safeguard our communities against drugs.”
