Islay New Build Open Day
Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) are delighted to be building 20 new homes in the Bowmore area of Islay to be named Sealladh Na Mara, with an anticipated completion date in July/August 2015.
These homes consist of 10 one bedroom and 10 two bedroom flats.
ACHA completes first new build homes in Connel since the mid 1950s
Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) handed over the keys to eight new homes for rent in the village of Connel.
The development at St Oran’s Place provides eight new one and two bedroomed homes. They are the first new homes for rent built in the village since the mid 1950s. The development was built by MacLeod Construction to a value of £1.4million. Thirty tradesmen and apprentices worked on the project for 14 months.
ACHA completes first new build homes in Helensburgh
Argyll Community Housing Association, ACHA, has completed its first new build housing in Helensburgh.
The 12 new build properties are made up of 6 one and 6 two bedroom flats.
Bridge Terrace Road issues smoothed over
ACHA is delighted to confirm that the road at Bridge Terrace, Furnace, was satisfactorily repaired by local contractor G McNaughton and Son on the 18th March.
ACHA coordinated the works on behalf of its five tenancies and owner occupiers who were affected by the poor condition of the road.
Partnership Working Brings Benefits to Cowal Pipe Band Hall
ACHA, in association with local contractors, has made a major contribution to a local community venue by refurbishing the kitchen at Cowal Pipe Band Hall.
Working with ACHA’s main contractor Carillion, Dunoon based company Stewart McNee and Tiree based Kevan Brown, have completely refurbished and updated the kitchen. Old fittings have been replaced with matching units, new worktops and new electrics. There has even been an upgrade to a brand new central heating boiler donated by Worchester Bosch UK. The old boiler was installed many years ago and was very uneconomical to today’s standards!
