Recent Consultation on Rule Changes

During July 2018 Association Members were asked to consider amending the governance structure which provides the opportunity for people to become more involved in decision making. Members were asked whether they would like to move from having four Area Committees to having two Regional Committees.

The Board of Management would like to thank everyone who participated in the consultation and confirm that following the outcome of the consultation the Board of Management at their recent meeting on 23rd August 2018, agreed to defer any decision at this time. This was as a result of a successful campaign carried out by the Mid Argyll and Kintyre Area Committee to recruit a number of new members to serve on the committee to strengthen it moving forward.

The Board of Management was keen that a further recruitment exercise should be undertaken to recruit members within the Bute and Cowal area with a view to hopefully resurrect the Bute and Cowal Area Committee. Further information will be published in due course.
