Living Well Drop In Event

Dunoon Community Development Trust

Dunoon Community Development Trust is undertaking some community engagement work for Argyll & Bute Council to develop an Active Travel Behaviour Change Plan for Dunoon.  As part of that work, they have created a short survey and would appreciate if residents of Dunoon would take the time to complete it.

Community groups in Argyll and Bute could see their wishes and ideas come to life through the council’s Community Benefit Scheme.

The Community Benefit Scheme has been running since September 2020, and enables contractors and suppliers appointed by the council to choose from a list of proposed community benefits, that community groups have identified, as part of the tender.

Scottish Ministers find in favour of Argyll Community Housing Association at Dalintober, Campbeltown

Scottish Ministers have found in favour of Argyll Community Housing Association following an appeal for permission to demolish five blocks (46 flats) of Category B listed, 3-storey, Scots Baronial tenements buildings dating from 1939 in the Dalintober Housing Estate in Campbeltown. The other listed buildings on the estate (Block F facing High Street and another block on the east side of Prince’s Street) do not form part of the proposed demolition.

Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) has been supporting local community groups through its Community Action Fund which can grant up to £500 in funding to community organisations.

Draft Customer Involvement Strategy

We worked with our Tenant Scrutiny Group “Your Voice” to develop the draft Customer Involvement Strategy using customer feedback. We are now seeking your views on the draft Strategy. Your views will be used to develop the final Customer Involvement Strategy.

At a time when unclaimed Welfare Benefits throughout UK reached a staggering figure of £18.7billion, Argyll Community Housing Association’s (ACHA) Welfare Rights team has, in the last 12 months, secured almost £3.8million for 1,268 households across Argyll and Bute, which has contributed to increased tenancy sustainment and brought additional money to the wider local economy.
