Argyll Homes for All Board

Argyll Homes for All is governed by a voluntary, unpaid Board of Directors. The Board currently have 5 representatives, made up of 2 independent members and 3 members of the ACHA Board. The AHFA Board are responsible for the strategic direction of AHFA and ensuring delivery of our aims and objectives.

Brian Barker

I have lived in mid Argyll for the last 15 years and for the last 8 years have worked as the Home Energy Specialist in Argyll & Bute for Home Energy Scotland. I make home visits to households to advise on energy efficiency and renewables and so I am very familiar with communities and housing across the area. I also work with partners locally and that is why I joined the AHFA board in 2015.

Previously I have worked in the nuclear industry, nature conservation, local government and was very active in the Argyll schools campaign in 2010/11. I am also a trustee of my local community trust and director of Artmap Argyll.

 

Jim Milne

I am a former Naval Officer who served 32 years as an Observer (Navigator) in the Fleet Air Arm; followed by 19 years as a Retired Officer in the post of Naval Resettlement Officer for Scotland based at HMNB Clyde. I was awarded an MBE for service during the Falklands Campaign. Author of ‘Flashing Blades over the Sea’, a history of RN helicopters, I maintain interests in naval aviation, the Napoleonic Wars and the American Civil War. A member of The Goldfish Club for aviators who have ‘ditched’ in the sea.

I joined the Board of ACHA in 2012 and have served an ‘apprenticeship’ as Chair of the Remuneration Committee and as Vice Chair. Elected as Chair of the ACHA Group in 2015. I have served as a member of the AHFA Board since its inception.

 

Bruce Marshall

Previously an Argyll & Bute Councillor representative on the ACHA Board, I was returned as an Independent at the ACHA AGM in August 2017.

I have consistently supported ACHA since it was formed in 2006 and am pleased with its performance in the ensuing years. The quality of service and accommodation has improved dramatically over the years and with the setting up of the AHFA subsidiary a few years ago, the quality of repairs work carried out has seen a vast improvement of service and I am pleased to be on the AHFA Board to see this work continue

 

Jim Lynch

I am a former Civil Servant with over 42 years managerial experience and have lived and worked in Oban since 2000.
Over the years I have supported my local community in a variety of ways.

I have been a member of the Children’s Panel in Clackmannanshire, worked in Oban’s Youth café and coached the local Youth Football team for over 10 years.

I am also presenter on the Oban FM radio.

I am currently an Argyll and Bute Councillor for Oban South and the Isles.

 

 

Ian McIntyre

As a tenant I will strive to bring to the board ground root knowledge from the frontline. As well as using the knowledge I've gained in life, the Retail, Distribution, Media, Industries, Self-employment in photojournalism, being an active member of a local church, local homeless charity and not least having/sharing care responsibilities with my mother for over 25 years, then in her later life caring for her.

At present I am the Chair of ACHA's Oban Lorn & the Isles Area Comittee, and Chair of ACHA's Audit Committee."
