Argyll And Bute Housing Associations Unite To Support Argyll And Bute Council’s Declaration Of A Local Housing Emergency

The Chairpersons of 4 Argyll and Bute Housing Associations met on Friday 18th August 2023 to commend and support the recent declaration by Argyll and Bute Council of a Housing Emergency.

The Chairpersons of Argyll Community Housing Association, Dunbritton Housing Association, Fyne Homes and West Highland Housing Association discussed how they can help and unanimously agreed to support the Council in whatever way they can. Tackling the housing crisis is a top priority for the associations and they agreed to work closely together, and with, Argyll and Bute Council to take forward initiatives and create innovative solutions that will assist.

ACHA to Revamp Vacant Properties in Helensburgh for Ukrainian Refugees

Argyll Community Housing Association has been successful in a bid for funding worth £418,200 from the Scottish Governments Ukraine Longer Term Resettlement Fund. The money will enable us to bring 24 vacant properties at Drumfork Court, Helensburgh back in to use. Most of these houses have been empty for a considerable period of time.

ACHA recognised at the Scottish Energy Efficiency Awards

Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) were nominated for two awards at this year’s Scottish Energy Efficiency Awards and were successful in winning the Regional Large Project of the Year category, along with receiving highly commended in the Regional Landlord/Housing Association of the Year category.

Argyll Community Housing Association’s Welfare Rights Team Secures £3.8m

At a time when unclaimed Welfare Benefits throughout UK reached a staggering figure of £18.7billion, Argyll Community Housing Association’s (ACHA) Welfare Rights team has, in the last 12 months, secured almost £3.8million for 1,268 households across Argyll and Bute, which has contributed to increased tenancy sustainment and brought additional money to the wider local economy.
