COVID-19 - Help and Advice

"Dear Tenant

You will be aware that the Scottish Government has imposed household movement restrictions in Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire. We have had a number of tenants refusing access for repairs and other maintenance issues due to a confusion regarding access to homes. Could I make it clear the Scottish Government’s restrictions do not apply to tradesmen going into your home who may come from Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire or East Renfrewshire. The new rules do not apply to any repair or investment work related to your home that ACHA may require to do. First of all, I hope you and your families are doing as best you can in these challenging times.

I want to give you a quick update on where we are with services we provide to you and a timeline for the way forward. Grass cutting and Estate Management inspections recommenced and are going well. From the 7th September, ACHA will be accepting and recording all repairs as normal, however due to the ongoing challenges in delivering services due to COVID- 19 there will be delays in completing non-emergency works and we apologise in advance for any delays and inconvenience caused.

Emergencies will still be treated as a priority and operative will make every endeavour to attend within the 4 hour timescale.

We have been doing essential servicing within homes since the start of lockdown because it is important that these checks for gas and electrical safety are carried out. A very small number of tenants have refused us entry for these essential works. These works are important for your health and safety so it is really necessary to get access. Our repairs team have all be trained and briefed on social distancing and they would ask you to be in a separate room when essential serving or indeed any other repairs are carried out. These are not easy times but the Association is trying to move forward respecting the guidance issued by the Scottish Government and the scientific and medical advisors.

ACHA Puts On Site In Oban £6m Energy Efficiency Project for 633 Homes

Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) has recently put on site a £6m energy efficiency programme for 633 homes in a funding partnership between the Association, Scottish and Southern Energy, the Scottish Government and Argyll and Bute Council. This mixed tenure initiative will provide improvements to 262 ACHA homes and 371 owners.

ACHA holds its fourteenth AGM

Argyll Community Housing Association, ACHA, held its fourteenth AGM virtually due to the current Covid 19 pandemic. It involved members participating via Skype.
