About us!

Alastair MacGregor, Chief Executive

Thanks to the overwhelming support shown by tenants across Argyll and Bute in the recent ballot, ACHA became the new landlord of all Council tenants in November 2006.

ACHA is a community led housing association that manages all 5,300 properties across Argyll and Bute as well as delivering associated housing services. Every penny of surpluses that ACHA makes will be ploughed back into delivering improved homes and improved housing services for tenants in Argyll and Bute.

ACHA is based in Argyll and regulated by Communities Scotland, the Scottish Executive housing agency. ACHA is governed by different rules to those affecting the Council. ACHA did not inherit the Council’s housing debt of around £48 million which enabled ACHA to provide quality housing for affordable rents while maintaining your rights, including right to buy.

We believe in ‘Putting tenants first’ in all housing decisions. Our Board of Management, ACHA’s main decision making body, has tenants forming the majority and this will also be the case with our four area committees. ACHA will also support a range of methods to involve tenants and communities to continually improve the standard of housing conditions and services.
